Result Home Wrestler
You have a love/hate relationship with your home, and there's definitely some things you'd like to change.
Almost half of Brits said they'd make improvements to their home if they had some extra cash, with top priorities being new kitchens and bathrooms.
But, these are costly, so Sarah has the following tips to help you feel happier in your home on a budget:
Spruce up your kitchen and bathroom without breaking the bank. Painting your kitchen doors and units and installing a new worktop can transform a tired-looking kitchen. And new bathroom tiles, or tile paint, can really bring a dated bathroom back to life.
Size is a key factor when it comes to home happiness, with people who have ample space being the happiest. If an extension isn't a viable option, then make the most of what you have by utilising every possible nook and cranny available - under-stair spaces, lofts and cellars are often ignored, but if you're savvy about how you use them, you can create valuable storage space. Over-door shelving and under sink cupboards are also good storage options for those short of space.
The interior wall colours that makes most Brits feel happiest are cream and beige, so try to bring in some neutral tones to your décor to up your happiness factor.
Brighten up your garden or outdoor space with potted plants and outdoor furniture, so you can enjoy the great outdoors in style.
Invest in a comfy sofa and well framed pictures of family and friends, both things Brits said made them feel happy in their homes and all achievable on a budget.
