An en suite is fast becoming a must-have for the master bedroom. In designer chic properties it's quite common to lose the ‘en' and have an open-plan bathing area within the bedroom. There's something luxurious about having a bath in your bedroom - though there's an irony in the fact that it's a return to the days when you wallowed in a tin tub in front of the bedroom fire. But I personally really think you should draw the line at open-plan loos.
I'd be wary of substituting a shower for a bath in a onebathroom property, though stand-alone shower rooms work well as a second bathroom option.
When choosing an extractor fan, go for the quietest one. You don't want to hear it whirring away while you're trying to sleep next door.
