I’m not using an estate agent – what does that mean regarding conveyancing ?

Once and offer has been agreed between buyer and seller, an estate agent will ask both parties for solicitor details. The agent will then put the solicitors of both “sides” in touch with each other and the legal process will begin. If you are not using an estate agent, you will need to ask your seller or buyer for the details of their solicitor and pass this on to your own solicitor. Put simply, you need to introduce your solicitor to the other solicitor and they will take it from there.
